Birthday Bliss

Wow. What a great weekend. I love birthdays because they remind you how many people love you and how blessed you are. Friday was my 23rd birthday, and it was one of my best birthdays yet! The best part is that I was totally not expecting it.

It all started Thursday night at my Aunt Sharon's with dinner, birthday cake, and all my favorite people in Nashville. As if that weren't enough, I got to work at CMT on my birthday and my department treated me to a birthday lunch. Afterwards, I returned home, expecting a qainte birthday dinner with my cousin/roommate. Instead, I was surprised with my cousin Lauren coming to visit! I had no idea! I think it was evident with the "shut up!" and pointing I was doing outside the condo's window.

The night began with pedicures, and then we headed over to one of my new favorite restaurants in Nashville-Firefly. I had the most wonderful salmon and a glass of wine, and then we went to a late movie. To cap it all off, it snowed the most it has all winter that night, and I woke up to a winter wonderland.

I thought I would be sad that I didn't get to spend my birthday with family and friends from home like I was supposed to-but I wasn't in the least. I have friends and family here that I love and if my 23rd birthday is any indication of how this year will be, it is going to be a great one!

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
