the beginning

Moving to a new city can be allot like a roller-coaster. It has its ups and downs-highs and lows, until you find your footing and the new city becomes a second home. I have been in Nashville for five months and it has been quite the ride.

Nashville is everything I thought it would be growing up in the flat lands of Texas. There are the rolling hills, the plantation style homes, quaint mom and pop restaurants, and all of the excitement of country music.

I came to Nashville to finish school and to pursue a career in the music industry. No-I do not want to become a country music singer no matter what my high school frinds say. Okay, maybe I do but until I learn to play the guitar and seriously work on my vocals I'm okay with just being around it.

I have conquered the first step to being around it-I landed an internship at CMT this semester. What a dream come true! Every time I step through those doors with my CMT ID badge fastened to my big-girl work pants I can't help but smile. In fact, I probably smile so much at CMT it scares people. :) It's just a great feeling to find a place where you feel totally in your element-especially if you are a creative type like myself.

This blog will chronicle my life exploring Nashville, seeking a career and becoming an adult. I hope I will be able to offer readers a good laugh and perhaps someone they can relate to if you yourself have just moved to a new city.
