It is the beginning of another week here in Nashville, Tennessee. I will take a few moments to recap the weekend. Friday evening I went to Cheesecake Factory for a small dinner (and of course cheesecake) with my cousin Andrea. We then went to see Fools Gold which was very funny. It was a laid back and enjoyable "cousin-bonding" evening, just what I needed after a long week.
Saturday I had work as usual at the one and only Katy's Hallmark, which has actually turned out to be one of my favorite places of employment. I work in the Print Shop making invitations for cute pregnant ladies and bride-to-be's. I suppose you would expect a Hallmark store to be a warm and positive environment...and it is! Saturday night I went out to my Aunt Sharon's in Brentwood and had a relaxing evening including a hot shower, some late-night TV and a really comfortable bed.
Sunday morning I made my way out to my favorite city, Franklin, Tennessee. Some girlfriends and I discovered a great new church there on the square. Just driving into Franklin with the picket fences, historic homes and the quaint square puts me in a spiritual mood. Afterwards, I introduced the girls to my favorite restaurant in Nashville-Puckett’s. The menu includes all of the southern favorites...sweet potato fries, squash casserole and peach cobbler. To die for-I know.
These are the kind of weekends that may seem low key-or boring, but are just what I need to refresh me for a new week. It’s funny how when you get older, you stop stressing about what other people think about what you do on the weekends, and more about what you really want to do. It is quite liberating actually.
